Bracken has ticks, we tweezered out all the ones we can find but whats the best tick medication for dogs/puppies? Also where would he have caught them and whats the best way to prevent them

Also my dog gets them when i take her for a walk where cows and sheep have been , they drop of when full of blood and then wait for next meal to walk past

They can get them from just walking through long grass and fields and such like,especially where sheep have been!
Your best bet is the frontline flea and tick spot on stuff,If you are tweezering them out yourself then do make sure that you pull the head an legs out from under the skin otherwise if left in they'll get infected! You need to kill the tick first to make it easier to pull out,either by spraying with flea spray or you can cover the tick in vaseline...ticks breath through air holes along each side of their body,so by covering them in vaseline it actually suffocates them...wait a few seconds before pulling it out. this should make it easier to remove the whole body and head!

Can frontline be used on a regular basis as a preventative? Also what do you actually do? is it like a needle or a tablet?????

This ensures all the teeth etc or pulled out...

Frontline covers fleas, mites and ticks, and should be applied three monthly to the back of the neck. It is just drops, quite expensive, but if you buy a years supply, it works out quite a lot cheaper.

That's exactly right! It ensures you get the head out properly!

i have always found drops the best thing on cats dogs an even used on my ferrets,an it stops fleas too.
isnt another way to put vasiline on the tick as it covers their air hole an they drop off.but i alway thought you shouldnt pull them out.
