Has anyone used this stuff for either keeping food fresh or for their sticks to 'drink'?

I was thinking of using it to keep the plants upright as its quite thick but will it harm the sticks?

Thanks in advance

AFAK - the gel is useless for T's(not sure about sticks), and okay for feeder food, however, it provides nothing a few hunks of carrot cannot.

Oasis florist's block is a better bet; fill a jam jar or similar with big chunks of it and it will keep stems upright, although you do end up using quite alot of it over time and it does hum after a while...

Why not just plug the mouth of the jar using kitchen roll or similar (presumably you're using a jar currently)?
