So i just noticed a patch of soil on the sand substrate in one of my incubators, on closer inspection there are tonnes of hair thin worms just a couple of mm long waving their heads out from it. I flushed as much of it as i could down the toilet, what the hell could they be and where the hell could they have come from?

Sounds like nematodes :)

They can come in soil and any detritus really. They don't often get out of control and you never normally see them in numbers unless there is an untapped food source. Sounds like they must of ate whatever you were incubating unfortunately.
