Female Ambivia popa from Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. She is feeding well - so far. The stance is very similar to Popa spurca which I used to see frequently in South Africa. Once she has taken her position she will not budge and resists any poking or gentle prodding to make her walk forwards.

Incredible camouflage, with her wings blending perfectly with the branch.

Stunning! P. spurca was one of my favourite finds in SA, nice little mantids, are they same family?
