My daughter has just returned from 3 months in Tanzania and took some 'bug' pictures for me.
She said there were hundreds of these millipedes on her hut on the beach (Pemba). Guess it was mating season.

Thanks, just looked them up. It says the males body is shiny and the females dull and that sems the case with these.
