ah *brown smelly stuff* I wish I had taken a picture of the pumpkin I made last year. It was the best in the neighbourhood.

Guess I will have to make another one this year to prove that lol.

Hahaha  I have an advantage here - have already carved 5 pumpkins tonight for our annual pumpkin festival and have a long night of carving ahead of me tomorrow night as well. Plus I have photos of the 20 or so I carved last year including scooby doo and a pirate ship! This year so far it's mostly fairly boring cats and bats!

Yep - realised as soon as I submitted that it said this year or previous so edited my post but you caught me!, so here are just some of the ones I carved last year - it's a team effort as we carve approx 150 pumpkins on my friend's dairy farm. It was a bit nippy tonight!

My pride and joy - this pirate ship sat in my garden until it practically composted on the spot

Scooby Doo!

A horse... had to be done

BUGFACE - think I was getting a bit random at this point

Spider web and slightly odd spider!

ohh I love the spider one. I'd be voting for that. Will be hard for me to top those. Hmmm

Now starting to wonder if I should bother with that kind of competetion haha

PS: I read recently that to restore a pumpkin that has sagged away, place it in a bucket of water overnight.

Did a palm tree on a desert island last night in a vain attempt to feel warmer sitting in a cow shed but forgot my camera. Halloween wasn't big in Bungay until 5 years ago when my friends decided to start putting pumpkins down the historic road they live on in our little town, last year 2,500 people turned up to see the pumpkins!
Come on - I want to see everyone else's efforts... I do have a lot of practice but not much time per pumpkin, this year's efforts haven't been quite as intricate as last year.
Kate

its just a hollowed out potato, the biggest i could find and i spent a while, quite happily carving pretty things in it. i put a birthday candle in it and came back 10 minuites, trying to remember if it was me who was cooking chips, cos it sure smelled like it :? im surprised it burned like it did it was quite wet inside, but then again i did squeeze alot of moisture out of it when i manhandled it to carve a face in it with a 10 inch knife
