^My effort (two left), Mark's effort (far right) and Kayla's effort (two on the left of Mark's) These are not entered though, I just wanted to post them lol.

Also, I know that CharleyG.21 didn't do a pumpkin, and that Mirf's isn't the "traditional" but they both made an effort and I felt that they should be included in recognition of that fact.

Good luck!

I am quite frankly shocked that I am not romping towards the finish line yards ahead of any and all competition.

I feel Cat failed to show the best picture I provided and that, in missing out the beautifully diced onion and potato, has put me at a distinct disadvantage.

*attempts to adopt serious face* :|

*fails* :lmao:

Does it help that mine probably tasted better than the others? No, thought not....

Well that's why I provided the link to look at the rest of the pictures, I wasn't going to fanny about putting every single picture that everyone posted up lol.

I did think that you originally asked for 'bug ' based carvings too!? Hence it being a bugnation comp. And multiple entries?
I think we all know the real winner here, bugnation itself!

My exact words were:

MissCat wrote:
So, I thought it might be nice for us to have a pumpkin carving competition (though I've not asked Shaz about this so might be being a bit cheeky) :D

So, carve a pumpkin, take a picture, upload it here and (pending poll results)win a prize!

PRIZES ARE:

1st= £30 gift voucher for The Spider Shop
2nd= One Hapalopus sp. colombia large spiderling +p&p

No excuses, even if you hate pumpkins just get creative and carve something else!

On 31st October at 3pm (so you have ample time!) I'll knock up a poll, which we will leave until 5th November, 3pm then announce the winner. As usual, common decency dictates that you will not vote for your own entry!

Sound good?

3...

2......

1.........

GO.

Oh one last thing: Be nice, don't cheat.

Although the forum is a bug forum, it is also so much more (furries, reptiles, amphibians, fish etc- as well as people, e.g. off topic) I thought that deliberately saying "bugs" would knock a lot of people out instantly, not all of us are artistically inclined and I sure and hell would have had problems doing an invert, plus it would have limited the field of imagination significantly and I really wanted you to all go wild with it and have a bit of fun- I *think* that happened... :?

This is the first year I've done it (no idea if it's been done before though) so expected teething problems and already have an idea of the differences that next years will have, if I should so chose to do it again, therefore any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

It's been a great success so far I think!
We have had pumpkin comps before, but not for a few years.
At the end of the day it's just a bit of fun lol!

Knightjar Yours was my personal favourite even though there was a slight cheat as it involved two pumpkins!
