Hi Everyone, Im new here. My name is Joseph, I am 21 from Australia.
I am getting some Extatosoma tiaratum's at the beginning of next month. I have purchased a 66x42x42 cm enclosure, UV 2.0 globe and reflector, Day&Night thermostat and a 50w ceramic heat emitter with reflector. After all my weeks of reading this is what i worked out would be best.
My plan is to run the enclosure during the day at 25C, and I would like to know whether i should program a night drop in temperature to mimic their natural environment.
I have been setting up an "incubator" as well, I would like to incubate using the cup and vermiculite method, I have it set up with a heat mat underneath, LED lighting above to simulate the photo cycle. In my reading it suggests that phasmid eggs hatch faster when they have a night-time drop and a photo cycle like in the wild.
Any comments or criticism would be great. I'm basically asking in this post for night time tempratures. Please ignore the fact that i like to bable
