I'm getting a Vietnamese Rainbow Millipede on Friday and i was wondering if, as a food, i could use any rotting leaves and wood from my garden.

Thanks.

P.S how big do they grow?

they will do better with rotting wood and leaves but depends on what you have in your garden tree wise?
they dont tend to eat a lot of fruits and veggies and they are not massive at adult maybe 5 inches

I have loads of different bushes and a cherry tree in my garden so i just picked some twigs and rotting leaves from the floor. I also have cork bark and bog wood that I bought from the pet shop.

Ideally oak works best if you can get the substrate from below that but yeah a mix of leaves you work well alone with any rotting wood

If you want a easy to keep millie and one that your going to see a lot to be honest i would got for A.Gigas they are big enough to hold and dont seen to mind they spend most of the time on the top they are really easy to feed and very impressive in size and a lot more hardy i have found.
and checked and Martin - Bugzuk has them in so worth a look :)
