I keep a pair of Spirostreptidae sp 8.

They seem very happy, male is a busy guy, checking everything out and making sure the tops of branches are in order and suitable for hanging off.

Recently I've got soom beetles in a tank next to theirs and run a lamp for the beetles, mainly for a bit of extra warmth and light during the day.

The millipedes seem to enjoy basking in the glow of the lamp, just wondered if they'd do this to soak up the warmth/light - it's never for too long so I'm happy their temp is OK (usually 19 - 20c).

I know it's a bit odd, and very human to apply human emotions to everything too, but I quite often get the impression that the milli's are actually enjoying things, like they get some sort of pleasure from things, in the same way a bird might like a good dust bath or sun bathing.

Maybe I need to get out more!

Glad it's not just me! I'm going to try growing some stuff so I might give the potatoes a try.

Cheers.

After a good look at the potato tops it looks like they were trying to sprout greenery and the milli's have enjoyed a good chomp on them :D
